Take Action

Today’s harsh legal and economic climate disproportionately affects people with limited incomes, especially those in marginalized communities. Thousands of Brooklynites are now grappling with increasingly high costs of living, leaving them stranded when unexpected legal issues arise. The effects of this injustice are felt throughout the borough. No person should ever be denied access to justice due to income, disability, or identity.

Access Justice Brooklyn partners with compassionate pro bono attorneys and cross industry professionals to provide high-quality, civil legal services that help ensure equal access to the legal system. Our clients face threatened homelessness, devastating debt, family breakdowns, uncertain immigration status, and ongoing predatory practices that target limited-income families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. Our direct services, education, and outreach are not only essential for individuals, but also crucial for dismantling systemic barriers to justice.

Providing civil legal services to Brooklynites in need is critical, but Access Justice Brooklyn can’t do it alone. Everyone, whether an attorney or not, has a role to play in expanding access to justice.
